Scott McKean Ahlander
1/30/49 – 1/27/21
Scott was born in Palo Alto, California to Beth M. and Ray C. Ahlander. He moved with his parents back to Utah at age 6 and resided in the Salt Lake area. As a youngster he was athletic and active with baseball being his favorite sport, this began his lifetime following of the San Francisco Giants. Scott was involved in a near fatal car accident at the age of 17. He persevered through a difficult recovery and life altering path. Scott’s determination was highlighted by his ability to reach his destination on foot or use of available transportation. Scott worked his way through school and graduated from the University of Utah. He used his talents in social welfare and became a job coach for challenged employees. Scott was a member of the Catholic Church and gave of his time and faith throughout his adult life.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece. He is survived by his brother Brent (Linda), sister Nancy Scott (Richard), 4 nieces and nephews.
Private funeral mass will be held Tuesday, February 9, followed by a 3:00pm graveside service at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive, following mask and social distancing guidelines. In lieu of flowers please contribute to a Catholic charity of your choosing.
