Shannadean Dipo Christensen's Obituary
Shannadean (Shan) Dipo Christensen
January 1, 1938 – March 23, 2016
On Wednesday March 23rd 2016 at 7:45pm surrounded by her loving, loud, and comedic family, Shannadean Dipo Christensen returned home after a 6 year struggle with Alzheimer’s.
Throughout her life Shan loved spending time with her family whether it was in the mountains at Camp Ugly, by the lake fishing, on the house boat at Lake Powell, or during the holidays; especially Christmas when she would display her collection of hundreds of Snow Babies figurines. She was also a member of the LDS Church and worked in the Jordan River Temple Baptistery for 19 years as well as owning and operating Body Brown Tanning Salon for 10 years.
She was a stylish dresser who always made sure she had the right pair of shoes to match every outfit. She also enjoyed reading romance novels, doing crossword puzzles, toll painting, coloring with her Grandchildren (as long as you didn’t break her crayons), and crafting.
She was a kind and understanding mother who had unconditional love for her children. And a devoted wife who made sure to have a cold beverage ready for her husband who would always bring her fresh flowers from the garden.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Jared “Jerry” “Derk” Christensen, her children Kerk Christensen, Michelle Henderson, Brad Christensen (Alissa), and LaR Morgan (Rick), her step daughter Debra Brown, her brothers Richard “Dick” Dipo, Vernon Dipo, and Fred Dipo, sisters Joan Cunningham, Dorthy Dipo, Lovina Kae Letcher, Patricia Chavez, and Sherry Jones, 35 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren (soon to be 66), as well as her yorkies (except for the one she took with her).
It gives her family joy to know that she was reunited with her parents Henry P. Dipo and Edith Lindsay Dipo, son Shane Christensen, step-son Reed Christensen, brother Roy, and sister Edith Wanita.
Services will be held on Tuesday March 29th 2016 at the LDS Church located at 2450 West 10400 South in South Jordan. The viewing will be from 9:30am – 10:30am, with services held at 11:00am. A family lunch will be held at 12:30pm followed by a game of Screwy Louie, Pool, and reminiscing until someone turns the generator off!
