David Crossley
I remember about Uncle Stan his booming laughter and pointed questions. I remember a fine fall day when he and Maxine had come to the ranch for a visit. Dad, (Clifford) and I (David) had just completed a successful duck hunt and were out at the burn barrel in the barnyard dressing the birds. Stan joined us and as he often did he offered a few questions. How do you cook it? Do you like it that way? Dad responded that we'd tried several different methods and went on to share that none totally eliminated the muddy river bottom taste. Stan followed with "well, if you don't like the taste then why do you hunt them?" We all had a laugh at that.
