Steven Casey Lopez's Obituary
Steven Casey Lopez, at the age 60, passed away on the morning of June 28th, 2024. Born on January 3, 1964, in Salt Lake City, UT, he was the third child of five born to Filadelfio and Dolores Lopez.
Steve is preceded in death by his father Filadelfio, his older brother Ed, his youngest daughter Trinity, and his beloved pet dog Pugs. He is survived by his mother Dolores; his loving wife Melissa; his oldest daughter Stephanie (Jeremy) Whipple; and grandchildren Jayden Gordon and Cameron Whipple. He is also survived by his bonus children Tiffany (Josh) Wright, Chantz (Dallas) Silver, Sierra Silver, and grandchildren Traevon (deceased), Kalena, Easton, Skylar, and Stella. Additionally, he leaves behind his oldest sister Pam, his youngest brother Dale (Tina), his youngest sister Deborah, and many nieces and nephews.
Steve was a devoted father to his two daughters, creating cherished memories through their many trips “camping” at the Property in Fruitland, Utah. They enjoyed floating down the creek, catching lizards, playing “21”, boating, and embarking on what seemed like endless rides on dirt bikes and ATVs. His daughters loved him unconditionally, and he worked tirelessly to ensure they were always provided for.
Steve and Melissa were married on January 6, 2017, and in their 7 1/2 years of marriage, they built a lifetime of memories. Melissa will always love and cherish the memories her and Steve created. They constructed a new home at the Property, with plans to retire and create even more memories. They enjoyed each other’s company while traveling to destinations like Playa del Carmen, Ouray, Colorado, Costa Rica, Kanab, Utah, San Antonio, Texas, Nashville, Tennessee and Tampa, Florida.
Steve was known for his loving, caring, hardworking, outgoing, energetic, and genuine nature. He spent the past 20 years working at Hexcel Corporation and previously worked at Dura Crete-alongside his brother Dale for many years. Steve’s infectious humor and willingness to lend a hand made him a friend to all he met.
His favorite place from childhood to adulthood was the Property in Fruitland, Utah. There, he would play around with his siblings, his kids, nieces, nephews, and his grandkids, engaging in activities like fishing, riding dirt bikes, ATVs, and exploring trails with his wife and friends in their side by side. Steve was a big kid at heart, always aiming to create a good time, often seen in his memorable outfit of no shirt, jean shorts, and socks with flip flops, until Melissa came along and updated his style of fashion.
Steve was an amazing person and will be tremendously missed by all who knew him. ~ Always in our hearts ~
