Stewart Bergstedt Paulsen's Obituary
Stewart Bergstedt Paulsen
1954 - 2022
Stewart Bergstedt Paulsen passed away peacefully on June 11, 2022 at the Huntsman Cancer Institute surrounded by his family. He was born to Carl Bergstedt Paulsen and Carol Jean Stewart Paulsen on August 14, 1954. Stewart had a large and loving family as the second of twelve children. He had many likes in life including remote control airplanes as a youth, boating, snow skiing, water skiing, and a sweet tooth for donuts and desserts that made us all smile. Growing up in a musical home, he delighted in the opportunity to learn the violin later in life. His love of music instilled by his mother, was expressed through his fine singing voice, guitar playing, and at the organ. Stewart had a love of running and completed seventeen marathons in his lifetime. He loved a ride on his bike and found joy hiking and camping in the mountains.
Stewart was sealed to his eternal companion Annette Quilter Paulsen on September 8, 1976 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. He loved his “Nettie” dearly. She was the light of his life and together they have six wonderful children, Angela Plowgian (Rob), Joshua Paulsen (Amy), Adrienne Babbitt (Mike), Cara Lyon (Steve), Isaac Paulsen (Megan), Abby Paulsen Elwood, and twenty beautiful grandchildren. He was a graduate of Olympus High School, and worked successfully in the roofing industry for nearly his entire life, retiring only a few years ago. Stewart lived a life of faithful service for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He completed a two-year mission in Indiana, was an excellent scoutmaster, served in several bishoprics, and as bishop of the Holladay 14th ward for nearly 6 years. He had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ which he often shared and a belief in eternal families that comes from his faith. Stewart will be greatly missed by so many friends and family. We look forward to a joyous reunion with him someday.
