Memories of Tom
Your presence commanded respect! And we honored that! And loved it even more when you would laugh or crack jokes or crack that little smirk of yours- that showed us all you were human! ❤️
When you were serious, we all knew it, and responded accordingly.
I was terrified of you as a kid, but at the same time, I knew u loved me because I was family (and happened to be your best friends daughter 😉)
You had a great sense of humor, your smile/smirk was genuine and contagious.
You had a strong sense of pride for our country and family and a great love of history.
You were my daddy’s best friend, you played football in high school together along with the third musketeer Rick Ottenhauf.
When my dad passed, I looked to you for that bear hug I was missing from my dad.
You gave me my dad’s dog tags, folded in a flag, it was so touching and special to me. I will never forget that! My oldest son Justin has them now.
I remember all the oldies you played on that old record player that was in that beautiful wood cabinet, especially around Christmas time. Every time I hear many of those songs such as the little drummer boy etc., it takes me back to those wonderful memories.
Scary movie nights during sleep overs with my cousins. Nightmare on Elm street ruined scary movies for me, I still don’t like scary movies!
Camping and campfire stories that were so scary and believable, we loved it but we were genuinely scared too. And if the stories weren’t enough with how convincing you were, you would mess with our tents after we went to bed. Scared us into staying quiet in our tents. Lol
You made my cousins birthdays so special with your well thought out and HARD scavenger hunts!
The school projects you helped my cousins build were incredible pieces of art.
I have so many wonderful memories of you that I will hold in my heart until we meet again.
The three musketeers are United once again! I’m sure you all are having a grand time and watching over us! Give my dad, grandmas, aunt Stephanie, uncle Larry, And Rick a big hug from me. Lots of love, Janiah
