Trudy Parcell Bishop's Obituary
Trudy Parcell Bishop passed away peacefully, at age 66, in her home surrounded by family on June 24, 2020, after courageously fighting a hard battle with cancer. She was born on September 2, 1953 to Mack Ivan and EvaDean Grace Parcell. She married Jerry Lamar Bishop in the LDS Provo Temple on December 28, 1972. She is the mother of 12 children, and grandmother to 42 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Her family was her greatest joy and she loved to gather them often to celebrate special occasions and enjoy spending time together.
Trudy developed and shared with others the talents she had been blessed with. Many friends and family were recipients of her delicious homemade bread. She enjoyed gardening and would share her produce freely. She spent many hours in various humanitarian projects.
Trudy was an exuberant fan of BYU football and watched as many games as she could from her home television. She was known to shout yahoo, and cheer as loud as she could when they made a touchdown.
Trudy was a woman of faith and was a strong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in a variety of positions in the Primary, Relief Society and Young Women’s organizations. Perhaps her favorite calling was serving as a visiting teacher. She visited faithfully every month and served to the best of her ability. She trusted in her Heavenly Father, had a personal relationship with Him and knew that she was a beloved daughter of heavenly parents. Trudy exemplified the Savior’s invitation to follow him.
Trudy is preceded in death by her parents, Mack and EvaDean Parcell, grandparents, a sister, Margaret Kimball, a brother, Marty Parcell, and a brother-in-law, Dennis Bishop. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Bishop, and children, Alison (Todd) Holman, Jared (Andrea) Bishop, Kristyl (Nathan) Hill, Jeffrey (Autumn) Bishop, Andrew Bishop, Chad (Anina) Bishop, Katie Bishop, Matt (BreAnne) Bishop, Jennica (Vincent) King, Derek (Kara) Bishop, Brooke Bishop, and Cory Bishop; and 42 grandchildren and great granddaughter, Paisley Anderson, sisters Polly Bishop, Kaye (Jon) Mitchell, Faye (Howard) Fuller, Cindy (Mark) Swenson, Shauna (Rob) Durrant, Becky (John) Pulver, Rachel (Shaun) Dansie, sister-in-law, Lisa Parcell, and foster sister, Nora Begay.
We will miss this loving, hardworking, compassionate woman, who has left a legacy of faith and trust in her Heavenly Father.
The family wishes to express their love and appreciation to Dr. Gregory Chipman and his staff of the Utah Cancer Clinic and Nancy Trapnell and team from Encompass for their service to Trudy during her journey over the last weeks and months.
