My memory of my sweet friend is of her beautiful lips, her laugh and our many long talks. I loved going in her room at Sunridge and visiting with her after I got off work. Her feet gave her so many issues but she did not complain about them. One memory I have is she asked me to come find a bug in her bed. I tore her bed apart and we found a feather from her comforter. We laughed and laughed about that. She was a very clean lady and was constantly cleaning her little apartment. She loved to smell good and look good. Even when she came out to get her mail she was fancied up.
My grand daughter came to work once with me and we were visiting some of the friends at Sunridge. About a week later my grand daughter wanted to tell me about Irene. She said you know the lady with the white hair and she drives a wheel chair? (Keep in mind at a assisted living there are several friends like that). Then she said the one with the pretty lipstick. I knew exactly who she was talking about. I also told Irene I loved when she wore a little too knot in her hair because she had the cutest little ears. They reminded me of Keebler the elf ears. I am sad to pass but I am happy for her to be reunited with loved ones and to be able to dance and be free of pain. I love you my sweet friend and I will always cherish the kisses and hugs and friendship.
