Bill was the ward mission leader in Cranbrook, British Columbia, when I was serving my mission there in 1967. He and his beautiful sweetheart, Rosemary, and her Mother, Helen, were like family to me. Bill came to my rescue on several occasions, such as when my companion had decided to leave for home, due to her anxiety and lack of self confidence. He gave both of us priesthood blessings and she stayed to finish her mission. I have loved my visits with Bill and Rosemary since they came back to Provo and then moved to Lindon. The love affair between them has been wonderful to behold. I know he will be an active missionary on the other side of the veil and will be reunited with his son and other loved ones there and will be looking after Rosemary from afar. Bill will be greatly missed.
