This very special lady will be forever missed. She was one of the most independent ladies I know and she truly loved her husband and family. I'll always miss our visits together. Wilma is our neighbor, we live behind her to the east, we moved here in 2004 and she took to me right away, she always had a Christmas Gift for me she either brought it by my work or when I made my rounds around the neighborhood to give our gift out she always had one there waiting for me.... We would stand at the back fence and talk. If she didn't see me out in the yard for a period of time, she would always ask my husband where I was and If I was ok.....
I have been out of the state for a week, and upon my arrival home, I received the news of my sweet and dear friend, I was shocked to hear the news, she always seemed to be in good health and spunky as could be....
Will miss her dearly. If I can help in any way please don't hesitate.
Condolences to the family
Wilma and Don moved across from us in Midway and began spoiling our family by introducing my 1 yr old son to his first sucker. Countless kindnesses were sent our way. Our friendship grew as we became regular walking partners. She was an example of selflessness and love while caring for Don through his health challenges. She became our 'angel' when, with a few days notice and on her own dime, she accompanied me and my third son (then 2 years old) to Ronald McDonald House of New York to help us prepare for his life saving surgery for Neuroblastoma at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She accompanied me to appointments and taught me card games. Our family will always be grateful for the lifting and building influence of Wilma and Don!
