Wilma Ina Hill's Obituary
Wilma Ina Hill
On April 5th, 2017, 14 years after the passing of her beloved husband Don, Wilma quietly passed away in her home, surrounded by family and friends, after complications resulting from 85 years of life beautifully lived.
Wilma was born in Dighton, Kansas and grew up on a nearby farm during the great depression. She graduated from Dighton High School, where she played basketball. After moving to Wichita to attend business school, Wilma met Don at a dance but refused to give him her phone number. Fortunately one of her friends gave Don her number and they were married on May 3rd, 1952.
While living in Wichita, Wilma worked in various bookkeeping positions, went dancing with her husband almost every weekend, and raised two boys.
Wilma became an avid genealogist and, over the course of her life, uncovered thousands of names in all lines of her family. After going as far back as possible in her and Don’s families, Wilma continued doing genealogical research for the families of many friends.
In 1998, Wilma and Don moved to Heber City, Utah, where she made many close friends and was a member of a weekly Canasta card club.
In addition to the countless friends she made throughout her lifetime, Wilma is survived by her brothers Donald (Sherrill) and Ronald (Neoma) Conner, her son Harley (Lyudmila) and grandsons Michael and Gabriel, and her son David and grandsons Maxwell (Rebecca), Forrest, Thomas, Benjamin, and their mother Robin Hill.
Wilma is being buried next to her husband in the Heber City Cemetery on Saturday, April 8th at 3 o’clock.
