Zachary "Zac" Scott Adamson's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Zachary "Zac" Scott Adamson, 18 May 1994—3 June 2025
With heavy hearts, we celebrate the remarkable life of Zachary Scott Adamson, who brought light, laughter, and music into the world. Born 18 May 1994 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Zac was a visionary, a performer, and a deeply compassionate soul whose journey was as vibrant and varied as the melodies he played.
A native of Millcreek, Utah, Zac’s love for music was evident when he first discovered the piano at age four. At age eight, he joined the International Children’s Choir directed by Dr. Kathy Sorenson and had the opportunity to participate in the World Choir Games in China. By twelve, he was already captivating audiences—performing with the Utah Symphony in Salute to Youth and bringing history to life playing young Mozart in Mozart Alive!. He also sang as a boy soprano with Bryn Terfel in Mendelssohn’s Elijah with the Tabernacle Choir. Zac loved performing in theatrical roles, starring as Michael in Peter Pan at Wasatch Jr. High and Jack in Into the Woods at Skyline High. He was also a dedicated member of the Skyline High School choirs and Jazz Band, where he played trumpet and piano.
Zac’s devotion to service and faith was a defining part of his testimony of Jesus Christ. He served a mission in Arcadia, California for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he found immense joy in helping and loving those around him. His life was a testament to kindness, self-improvement, and compassionate communication—values he practiced daily.
Zac attended Brigham Young University where he sang with the Men’s and Concert Choirs and toured China with the BYU Young Ambassadors for their 40th Anniversary Spectacular. His deep love for music led him to earn a bachelor’s degree in piano performance in 2019, followed by a master’s degree under Dr. Scott Holden in April 2025. He also performed with the Salt Lake Choral Artists under the direction of Brady Allred. He especially treasured arranging and performing music with his sister Sarah on violin and his father Rob on drums—bringing joy to all who heard them play.
Zac’s journey was not without challenges. For many years, he faced depression and anxiety. Though he struggled immensely, these experiences deepened his empathy and compassion, helping him foster meaningful connections. Zac was always looking after the one, never missing an opportunity to talk to strangers, share wisdom, and bring people together over music, good food, and happy coincidences.
His curiosity for the world extended beyond music. While studying abroad in Vienna, Austria, he developed a love for the German language and later completed a minor in German. His time in Austria led to deep friendships, inspiring the formation of
the Ensign Piano Quartet, whose performances continue to bring joy to audiences.
Zac’s creativity was boundless—he found joy in musical improvisation, dazzling audiences as a keyboardist at ImprovBroadway and Quick Wits Comedy Club. Among his many musical experiences, one of the most unforgettable was an opportunity to tour the country with the Mannheim Steamroller Christmas Tour in 2024—a dream gig that showcased his talent and passion on a national stage.
Zac’s passions stretched far beyond music. He embraced nature, loved barefoot hiking, excelled at yoga meditation and was known for standing on his head, doing full splits, and tackling life with an open heart.
A true builder at heart, Zac loved Legos, K'Nex, magnets, knots, and paracord—always exploring new ways to shape and connect things. He had a fondness for bright orange, relished a hearty goulash breakfast, and appreciated the simple charm of a can of beans. His laughter was infectious—whether tossing kids in the air, crafting a perfect pun, or hauling bikes out of Lake Michigan just for the sheer joy of unexpected adventure.
Zac left this mortal world 3 June, 2025, in a pool accident in Savannah, Georgia. In the next life, he is lovingly welcomed by his younger brother, Alexander, who passed from SIDS in 1997 when Zac was just three years old. He is also reunited with his cherished grandparents—Mary Neves and Karl B. Adamson; Marylyn Park Myers, Clistina Mathews Myers, and George Scott Myers; his uncle, George Park Myers; aunt, Kathy Adamson Johnson; and cousins: Wendy Johnson and Wendy’s grandson, Archer Anderson. Also there to greet him are Troy Karl Adamson, Johanna Beck, Colby and Kamberly Binks, Jeremiah and Grayson Spackman, and his second mother, Marci Redd Roderer as well as several beloved pets. We find peace in knowing Zac is now with his Heavenly Parents and his Savior, Jesus Christ, embraced in love and light.
Zac is lovingly remembered by his parents, Sharyl Myers and Rob Adamson, and his sister, Sarah Ann Adamson, and her husband, Garrett Thomas along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. His legacy is one of joy, service, love, laughter, and music woven into the lives of everyone.
As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life that was deeply felt, richly experienced, and beautifully shared. May his music and life continue to play in the hearts of all who loved him. Though it’s hard to be the ones left behind, we know you are not far. Your earthly opus is over, but we know you’re just backstage. Encore soon?
